A favourite, I enjoy the both the colour and the shape of these guys.
This group of mushrooms was found on one of my hikes in Lynn Canyon. There is a tremendous amount of variety in the mushrooms in that area, great for both photography and nature treasure hunting. :)
Another group found in Lynn Canyon.
They looked so pillowy soft, it was almost as if they were made of marshmallows.
A true exercise in patience and finger crossing. When I found this guy the light was a few feet away, but looked to be moving in the right direction. This time it paid off!
Another Lynn Canyon winner, love the soft feel and the great light with this shot. Only a few feet from the side of the hiking trail, the forest was much more open in this area, letting the perfect amount of sun to works it way into the background.
These tiny little guys and similar ones pop up in so many unexpected forest nooks its fantastic. So small they are very easy to walk right by and miss. Even looking at a section of forest intently they will often just blend right in, but slowly one after another they appear. Then you realize there is this whole miniature world out there.
The texture is wonderful and soft. I choose to develop this as a black and white to focus on those subtleties.
